Dukes Creek Falls

At just a tad over two miles combined in and out, the very well defined trail down to these falls winds around with a few trackbacks, and delivers you to another one of North Georgia’s most scenic waterfalls. The hike is not too strenuous, which opens itself up to a nice hike for beginners to even the well experienced hiker.
There are a few viewing decks with which to enjoy the falls, and trust me, you do not want to attempt to climb down from the decks, the results could end in death. This is a great place to hike down to, and spend the day catching up on your reading, or put on your headphones with some relaxing music, and just enjoy the cool breeze created by the rushing waterfalls.
For dining, you must drive into the nearby mountain village approximately 15 minutes away for a plethora of excellent riverside dining options, and a handful of lodging options ranging from hotels, to riverside mountain cabins.
There is one campground that I highly recommend. This campground offers all the amenities ranging from tent camping sites, and RV sites, to a excellent restaurant in a large mountain lodge. There is even a swimming beach area on a cool clean mountain water lake. The lake also offers Kayak, canoe, and paddle boat rentals for just pleasure, or for fishing in a lake that is very well known for monster size bass.
There is also another magnificent waterfall hike just minutes from here that is a don’t miss opportunity.
